BRANDT — Mable Milton, 88, Brandt, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at a Clear Lake hospital.

Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 5 at the Woodlake Lutheran Church in Astoria. The Rev. Herb Wounded Head will officiate.

Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Clear Lake. Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren and honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren and great-great grandchild.

Visitation at Houseman Funeral Home Chapel in Clear Lake.

Mable Marie Reihe was born on April 30, 1919, to Otto and Hattie (Bublitz) Reihe in South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Altamont. She graduated High School in 1938 from Altamont.

She was united in marriage to Harold Milton on May 14, 1941. After they were wed, they farmed together near Toronto for a few years. In 1943, the purchased a farm east of Brandt, where she drove tractor for many years for her husband. She enjoyed raising chickens and having a garden. They moved into the town of Brandt in 1982. She went into the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center on Oct. 5, 2007. She was a member of the Woodlake Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Senior Citizen Center. Her favorite pastime was playing pinochle with her friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Roger; and a grandchild. Her husband, Harold, also died on Nov. 2, 2007.

She is survived by her children: Jerry (Lonnie) Milton of Brandt, Dennis (Arlene) Milton, Hayti, Judy (LeRoy) Sonnenburg of Estelline, and Bruce (Sharon) Milton of Brandt; fourteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters-in-law, LaVera Reihe of Clear Lake, Fae (Erwin) Baer of Canby, Minn. and Gloria (Eldro) Juenke of Hendricks, Minn.
