ROY ELWOOD MOORE, SR.'S OBITUARY:

Roy Elwood Moore, 79, of Monett, MO, passed from this life on Monday evening, May 3, 2021, while at the Cassville Health and Rehab Center in Cassville, MO.

Roy was born on April 26, 1942 in Berryville, AR, son of the late Johnie and Clara (Smith) Moore. Roy had worked for MFA in Aurora before his twenty plus year career at Tyson Foods, retiring in 2005. Roy was a member of the South West Action Team CB Club and New Life Free Will Baptist Church. Roy enjoyed riding horses, rodeos, fishing and camping.

On June 4, 1966 in Monett, Roy married Josephine Marie "Jodie" Eldridge. To this union, three children were born.

Roy is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Jodie Moore; one daughter, Joni Potter and husband Danny, of Monett; two grandchildren, Brandon Lee Moore and Evelyn Arizona Potter; seven brothers, Ivan Moore of Verona, Russell Moore of Hernando Beach, FL, Bob Moore and wife Louise of Cassville, Ricky Moore of Cassville, Furlen Moore and wife Nancy of Purdy, Jerry Moore of Pierce City and Claude Moore and wife Martha of Verona; two sisters, Eula May Gates of Chelsea, OK and Linda Mayer and husband Richard of American Falls, ID; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Roy was preceded in death by one son, Roy Elwood Moore, Jr.; one daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie Josephine and Mark Burns; and two grandchildren, Justin and Erica Rose Burns.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Buchanan Funeral Home with Denny Lemaster, Minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Arnhart Cemetery, Purdy. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Monday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.

Had Covid-19 in November 2020. Never fully recovered.
Passed away peacefully in his sleep.
