Last rites for Miss Martha Emily Austin were held Monday afternoon, June 7th, at four o'clock, at Bethlehem Church with the Rev. J. T. McCafferty and the Rev. J. H. Holder officiating. Interment was in the Bethlehem cemetery with Oliver Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Serving as active pall bearers were Guy Coleman, W. H. Shaffer, Albert Weed, Alfie Jacks, Alton Holmes and Tyler Holmes.
Miss Austin died at her residence about three miles east of Winona after an illness of several hours. She is a life-long resident of Montgomery County having been born in the county December 7, 1865. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She leaves two sisters, Miss Bettie Austin of Winona and Mrs. Bell Love of Kilmichael. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
