Vera was born on September 2, 1945 to John and Irene Montoya.
A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, Vera dedicated her life to helping others as an OR nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital, a childcare provider at her home daycare, a caregiver to adults with disabilities and anyone needing a helping hand. Vera truly enjoyed helping others who were blessed to know her.
Vera lived each day to the fullest, she loved going to the casino, listening to country and Mariachi music, dancing and hosting parties at Coyote Run in the mountains.
Vera was the most loving mother and leaves behind her only child, her beloved daughter, Lisa Marie and son-in-law, Jason Montaño. Vera is also survived by her spouse, Lidio Holguín, twin sister, Vicky Baca (Henry), sister, Gloria Droelle, brother, Fred Montoya (Grace), as well as countless nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. A bereavement reception will not be held due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Vera was loved by many and will be greatly missed but she will always hold a special place in everyone's heart of those whose lives she touched.
