Charles C. Moore was the son of Charles Moore (1770 - 1824) and Hannah McWhinney (1770 - 1834) who were married in County Down, Northern Ireland. They immigrated to the United States in 1792 with Charles' mother. Between 1779 - 1798 seven of his brothers also immigrated to the United States settling in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Charles and Hannah had 6 sons and 4 daughters. They traveled from Philadelphia to Fort Pitt in 1794. In 1795 - 1796 they took a flatboat down the Ohio to the present day Cincinnati area where they settled. Charles C. Moore married his first wife, Margaret Goudy (1796 - 1835) on October 31, 1822 and they had four sons (James, Thomas, an infant who died & Robert) and two daughters (Hannah & Elizabeth). They moved to Union County, Indiana in 1827-29 time period where Margaret Goudy died in 1835. Charles C. Moore married Margaret Stout in 1835 in Union County, Indiana. They moved to Marion County, Indiana in 1846. They had 3 sons (an infant who died, William & Alonzo George) and six daughters (Margaret, Rebecca, Sarah, Henrietta, Emmaline & Harriet). Charles C. Moore farmed until his death in 1866.
