Obituary for Bobby McMurry
SHELBY: Bobby McMurry, 86, died Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Edith White Canipe and his step-father, A.L. Canipe. Bobby served in the Army, was a past master of Cleveland Lodge #202, retired from Overnight Transportation, and later owned and operated his lawnmower repair and lawn care business. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Canipe. He is survived loving wife of 67 years, Ruby Waters McMurry; son, Randy McMurry; daughters, Rita and Susan McMurry, all of Shelby; sisters, Betty Greene, Cathy Tolbert and Jane Phillips; brother, Bobby Canipe; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2pm, Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in Cleveland Memorial Park, with the Rev. Dr. Tim Sims officiating.
