Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, April 16, 2021, Mr. Irwin "Ray" Collier, 90, loving husband of the late Grace S. Collier.

Ray was born in Itawamba County, Mississippi but grew up in Augusta.
In 1952, he began his career as a District Manager for the circulation department of the Augusta Chronicle, he was promoted to Head Pressman where he worked for 30 years, and retired after 40 years at the newspaper. After retirement Ray continued to stay busy gardening. He sold blueberries and okra at a local market. He considered himself a workaholic, but in his spare time, he kept the grounds at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, where he was a charter member. He was a loving husband and father who selflessly did for his family, his church or anyone he found in need.

Family members include his son: Joe Collier (LeeAnn); daughters: Cathy Nichols (Ralph) and Judy Law; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Robert F. Thomas officiating.
