Elijah Benton Ousley

Elijah Benton Ousley was born on January 1836, in Iowa, and came to Morgan Couinty, Missouri with his parents in 1837. Eli was raised on his Uncles farm southwest of Syracuse, Missouri.

Eli was married to Joan Elizabeth WIlliams on February 3, 1857, in Morgan County, Missouri by A.C. Lampton J.P.

Eli and Joan had one daughter, Rachel Minerva who married Alfred Green Baker and they had one son, Thomas Martin Eli Ousley.

Elijah was elected Sexton of Mount Olive Baptist Church in December 1878. He also served as associate delagate and moderator pro tem. Their home was near the church.
