Visitation will be from 4 to 6 P.M. Friday, April 23rd at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 2nd Street S.E., Cedar Rapids.

Jean was born February 16, 1931 to Jacob and Ella (Jarstad) Ames.
She wed Jerry Sindelar on February 28, 1949.
She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
Jean was employed at Nash Finch for many years until her retirement in 1996.
She enjoyed reading, baking, quilting and anything that involved family time.
Jean is survived by her son, Jeff (LeeAnn) Sindelar of Marion; grandson, Derek (Terese) Sindelar of Jackson, Wisconsin; granddaughters, Kari (Nolan) Greiter of Chicago, Illinois and Shannon (Justin) Thiele of Ames; great-grandchildren, Graham Greiter and Reagan Sindelar; brothers, Vernon (Lynn) Ames of Marion and Robert Ames of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Mary Ames of Amana; brother-in-law, Robert Kabela of Solon; and many nieces and nephews that were very dear to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; brothers, Alton Ames and Ervin Ames; sisters, Arlene (Ben) Wilson, Shirley Kabela and Doris (Fred) Egbert; sister-in-law, Carol Ames; nephews, Tommy Ames, Robbie Ames and Dan Hamilton; nieces, Anne Hamilton and Sally Gorman; and several cats and dogs that she loved like family.
The family thanks Manor Care for the love and care given to Jean for the past few months.
Jean will be laid to rest beside her husband at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
