Margaret Keith Margaret (Peggy) A. Keith (nee Sullivan) died on May 18th at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa. Peggy was the beloved mother of John, Dan, Chris, Mary (deceased), Katie, Tony, and Bob. Loving grandmother to John Jr., Jessica, Hannah, Mallory, Mary Katherine, Gabriel, Peter, Margaret, Samuel, Christopher, William, Joseph, and Elijah. Peggy was born and lived her early life in Franklin, PA. Peggy's sister Joan Shupe remembers her as a wonderful older sister and a role model. In her free time Mom enjoyed swimming, loved to sing, and was particularly fond of Frank Sinatra. Peggy met and married Tony (Gordon) Keith (deceased) in Franklin and moved to Pittsburgh while Tony attended Pitt. The family grew and lived in western PA until the early 60s when a job transfer brought the Keith's to Brookfield, Our mom loved camping and raised seven children in a beautiful home across from a large park where the Keith kids could play and pursue their love of sports. Among the jobs Peggy had in the 60's and 70's were Executive Secretary at Riveredge Hospital in North Riverside IL and Executive Assistant at Brookfield Zoo. At the age of 55, she decided to pursue her dream of a nursing career by enrolling full time at Clarke College in Iowa and living in a dorm her freshman year! She then completed her BS degree in nursing at St. Xavier University in Chicago. Upon graduation Peggy was most proud to be an RN floor nurse at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. She eventually secured a job in hospice, a position she found personally rewarding. She freely and easily offered her compassion, solace, and skills to those who were most vulnerable. She felt blessed to be able to offer this service. And we, as a family, were blessed that Mom's final care needs were provided by the caring and loving staff at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA. Peggy is survived by 13 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; her sister, Joan, Wellesly MA; and brother, Jim Sullivan, Terre Haute, IN. We love you Mom. More than we could express with words. Her passion for loving was insatiable. She loved God, she loved her family, and she loved her neighbors. As she would always say when departing or hanging up the phone ... "I love you, God bless you, goodbye!" Goodbye, Mom. Services were held. Elmhurst Suburban Life (IL) - Wednesday, June 24, 2015
