Susannah Wimer was born in August 1841 in Virginia (now West Virginia). She was the daughter of George & Susannah (Zickefoose) Wimer. In the 1850 U.S. Census, the family was living in Hunting Ground and North Fork Hills, Pendleton, Virginia. In 1860, Susannah (Susan) was living with her father and stepmother, Annie, in Pendleton County, Virginia (now West Virginia).
Susannah married Noah Washington Lamb (aka Lam) on 09 Apr 1865 at Pendleton County, West Virginia. The family moved to Coffey County, Kansas, about 1868. Their daughter, Annie, was born in West Virginia, in 1867. Their daughter, Mary died in Coffey County, Kansas, in 1869, and their son, William Thomas, was born in Coffey County, Kansas, in 1869.
The family lived in LeRoy Township, Coffey County, Kansas, when the 1870 U.S. Census was enumerated. Her brother, Peter Lamb, also lived in Coffey County. Her sister, Mary Slagel, lived in nearby Neosho Falls, Woodson County, Kansas.

Susannah's daughter Mary Elizabeth; her sister-in-law, Mary Raines Wimer; sister-in-law Sarah Jane Wimer; nephews Elias Jefferson and John W Wimer; and niece Ida Frances Wimer were also buried in the Wooster Cemetery. The Strawder family from Pendleton County, West Virginia, were also buried in the cemetery. This researcher has not determined if Mrs. Lucinda (Wimer) Strawder was related to Susannah.
