Louise Zufall Fye Claimed by Death Sunday Morning
Death came to one of this section's most beloved old ladies when Mrs. Louise Zufall Fye passed away at the home of her son, Asa Fye, in Reynoldsville, RD 1 at 9:10 o'clock Sunday morning January 14. Death was attributed to complications common to advanced years, with which she suffered one year and had been bedfast six weeks.
The deceased was born in Sykesville on February 13, 1858 and in March, 1884 was united in marriage at Sykesville to Samuel L. Fye who preceded her in death by several years. She was aged 81 years, 11 months and 1 day.
Mrs. Fye possessed many fine characteristics and was deeply loved by all who knew her. Her demise will be sincerely mourned by her countless friends. She was a member of the local Methodist church.
Surviving her are three sons and one daughter, namely: Asa and Clarence, of Reynoldsville; John of Soldier; and Mrs. J.H. Perry of Pittsburgh. Twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren also survive. Her husband, two sons and one daughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at the Asa Fye home at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev. I.A. Rhodes of Punxsutawney, officiating. Burial followed in the Sykesville cemetery. Grandsons of the deceased served as pallbearers.
