Katie was born in Prestage, Texas to the late O. C. and Margaret Welch. She was the youngest of thirteen children.
She was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother and faithful prayer worrior.
She married Everett Powell Rhoudes on Nov. 10, 1928. They celebrated 66 years together.
