Funeral services for Paul Brey are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Hilliard Funeral Home with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. A private family graveside service will be held at Union Chapel Cemetery with Danny Brey officiating.
Paul Wayne Brey was born October 18, 1935 in Dallas, Texas. He had been a resident of Van since 1966, also living in Saudi Arabia for 12 years in between. Paul worked as an electrical relay technician for Dallas Power & Light, Aramco, and then later as a private contractor.
Mr. Brey passed away at the age of 85 on March 31, 2021 in Van. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Martha Brey; and a grandson, Timothy Paul Brey; parents, James George Brey and Myrtle Estelle Daniel Brey; siblings, Margarette E. Brey, Faye Marie Gassett Pickle, Esther Lois English, John Brey, Cleve Brey, and George Brey.
Survivors include his three sons, Jim Brey and wife, Lori of Missouri, Robert Brey and wife, Tammie of Lindale and Ron Brey and wife, Kriss of Van; two daughters, Paula Gray of Arp and Mindy Noonan and husband, Todd of Dallas; sister, Betty Lou Colbert; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Andy Brey, R.J. Brey, Calvin Brey, Bubba Overstreet, Josh Carpenter, Drew Noonan, Cole Walker, Ryan Wigley, Shaine Wigley, Ougo Ortez, Jared Carpenter, Daniel Gray, Travis Gray, Kelly Paul Gray, and Lane Gray.
