Lawrence (Larry) Garland Bauch was born On December 11,1922 at the Family home on Brooklyn Ave in Fort Wayne,Indiana.He was the son of Garland Ridgeway Bauch and Myrtle (Roebel) Bauch.
He had three sisters,Ethel,Evelyn,Viola, and five brothers,Delford Morris,Clifton,Robert,Clarence,Herbert.
He attended Anthony Wayne Grammar School and the South Side
High School. He was a Golden Gloves Boxer.
He Joined the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps)
and built canals and fought forest fires near Redmond,Oregon.He served in the United States Army in World War 2 and was at the D.Day invasiion of France and the Battle of the Bulge.He was awarded 4 Bronze Stars.
FDR was his favorite President.
After the war He returned to Fort Wayne and work at the Horton Manufactuing Company where he got reaqainted with Daisy Sizemore and they were married on February 1,1946.They celebrated their 61st aniversary on February 1,2007.
Lawrence and Daisy had six children,four daughters Alice,Myrtle 2nd,Lana and Roberta and two sons Larry G.,and David W.
He is also survived by grandchildren Rebecca L.Landis Batdorf and Timothy J.Baker and Mathew L. Baker and Terry David and Emiley Bauch.He is also survived by a niece Betty and two nephews Mike and Billy.
He is survived By two great grand children Julia.and Trevor.
He loved BIG BAND MUSIC
He was a fan of Horses and Horse Racing and for many years Daisy and He attended several Kentucky Derbys and always watched on T.V. If They couldnt attend in person.
He was a NFL Football fan since the begining and he was able to see the Indianapolis Colts win the Superbowl on 2-4-07 the Sunday before he left this world.
He had retired from Dana Corporation in 1985 with 28 years of service.He was a member of St.John Lutheran Church 729 W.Washington Blvd.
He was also a member American Legion Lincoln Post 82.
and a member of the Dana Sympathy Club and Local 903.Lawrence and Daisy were both longtime Bus riders of the local bus company and had enjoyed a good Raport with many of the bus Drivers who provided them with many years of excellent service. Larry and Daisy enjoyed taking many daily walks together.Many members of their Church St.John recall them walking to church on Sundays.
