Ernest Ray Barnes, 89, of Elizabethtown passed away Monday, March 29, 2021, at his home. He was born August 16, 1931 in Hardin County to his parents, Benjamin and Roxie Hagan Barnes.
He was a painting contractor with Barnes Painting and a member of First Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Lyons Barnes; daughter, Cynthia Robin Dillard; his parents and brothers, Ellis, Harold and Edward Barnes.
Survivors include his son, Jeffrey Allen Barnes (Ginger) of Elizabethtown; daughter, Miranda Thompson (Greg) of Elizabethtown; brother, Raymond Barnes (Linda) of Buffalo; sisters, Pauline Bottoms of Elizabethtown and Doris Davis of Florida; grandchildren, Jessica Nalley, Zilania Perry, Brandon Peters (Jenni), Jaqueline Peters (Alex) and Ryan Dillard and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 5PM Wednesday, March 31, 2021, with burial to follow in Valley Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
