Daniel Clay "Smiley" Welch was born on April 2, 1961 to Henry and Mary Welch. He graduated from Choctaw High School in 1979 and worked at Strawn's Corner in Nicoma Park for more than 40 years. He was married to Kathy LeMaster from 1989 til 1996 and had two sons, Daniel Lee Welch and Zachary Todd Welch. He was married to Paula Lynne Moats Welch for the last five years.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother, David Welch; his sister, Marla Welch; and his son, Daniel Lee Welch. He leaves behind his wife, Paula, of the house; his son, Zachary Welch; step-children Selena Baxter and significant other Eric King; Kimberly Goetz and Husband Keith; TJ (James) Moats and wife, Katie Rose; grandchildren Jackson Ward, Kinley Ward, Kora Ward, Luke Moats, Sophia Moats, Thalia Baxter Baxter-King and his beautiful birth mother, Bernice Spoon, whom he reconnected with four years ago; along with siblings Angie McElroy; Charlene and husband, Lemuel Draper; Tim and Pam Jordan and many other beloved family and friends. Services were held at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home, Midwest City, Saturday, April 3, 2021
