Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 31, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence. Burial will be in Inland Cemetery, Bennett, Iowa.
Vivian Ruth Badtke was born March 24, 1924, in Preston, the daughter of Paul and Anna (Chrabkow) Badtke. She graduated from Easton Valley High School in 1942. She married Delmar William Giebelstein on March 6, 1953. Together they farmed near Clarence and Bennett, until they retired and moved to Davenport. Delmar preceded her in death on August 24, 2009. She later made her home in Tulsa.
Surviving are one daughter, Pati (Tom) Hoffmann of Tulsa, OK; one son, Joseph Giebelstein of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Sean Giebelstein, Chad Giebelstein, Sheree Bryant, James Hoffmann and Marie Hoffmann; and six great-grandchildren; Damon, Gabrielle, Coral, Sullivan, Vayla and Autumn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Gertrude Badtke and Karen Lourens; two brothers, Ernest Badtke and Rodney Badtke; four brothers-in-law, Melvin Giebelstein, Virgil Giebelstein, Lloyd Grage and Daryl Ballenger; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Giebelstein, Joyce Giebelstein, Alice Grage and Darlene Ballenger.
