Rodney was born March 24, 1927 in Preston, Iowa. Rodney was the son of Paul and Anna (Chrabkow) Badtke. He farmed at rural Charlotte until moving to DeWitt in the 70's.
He was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. He enjoyed gardening and in later the activities at Westwing.
Surviving are a sister, Vivian Giebelstein and her husband, Delmar, Davenport; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Rodney in death were his parents, a sister, Karen Lourens, an infant brother, Ernest and an infant sister, Gertrude.
The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 9 until 9:45 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2006. Service of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Garland Gotoski officiating. Interment Preston Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Westwing Place.
