Blanch was the daughter of Arthur and Esther (Whitehead) Bell. Blanch had an older sister May who was born about 1875 and died between 1880 and 1900. Family history has it that Blanch was adopted by Arthur and Esther after May died.
Her grandparents were James and Millicent (Springer) Whitehead, great grandparents were James and Sarah (Wood) Whitehead and Micajah and Mary (Rodgers) Springer and gg grandparents were Joseph and Sarah (Williams) Springer.
In 1940 she was a bookkeeper in a church office.
