Oliver Harry Sanders Rites Held at Ethel
Ethel - Funeral services were held at the Ethel Baptist Church Monday for Oliver
Harry Sanders, 76, who died January 4 at Muskogee, Okla. following a stroke.
The Rev. Clyde Beck, pastor of the Kerr Chapel Baptist Church conducted the
service. Burial was in Ethel Cemetery.
Mr. Sanders was born Oct. 31, 1876, a son of Ed and Julia Bowlinger Sanders. In
1896, he was married to Miss Georgia Hayne. She died in 1929. In 1935, he was
married to Mrs. Vera Baker.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, C.C. Sanders and T.E. Sanders, both of
Wichita Falls and L.L. Sanders of California; three daughters, Mrs. Mollie
Bentley of Lawton, Okla., Miss Emogine and Miss Norman Lee Sanders, both of
Bromide; three step-daughters, Mrs. Bessie Keen of Corpus Christi; Mrs. Betty
Pennington of Bromide, Mrs. Clara Dewberry of Muskogee; a brother, W.S. Sanders
of Collinsville; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Nutt of Collinsville, and Mrs. Berta
Ross of Coolidge, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, on great-grandchild and nine
step-grandchildren.
