Son of James Bolin and Antha Dabney Bolin Silvers. He was united in marriage to Josephine Neal at Somerset, Kentucky on June 6, 1951. Survivors include his wife Josephine; three sons, Charles L. Bolin, Somerset, Joseph R. Bolin, Louisville, and Jonathan Wesley Bolin, Somerset; one daughter, Betty Jo Eastham, Somerset; John was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII in which he was awarded several medals including the Purple Heart.
