Heinkel He111P (1619). Night sortie to London Docks. Shot down by RAF night fighter and crashed at Swifts Field, Station Road, Withyham, East Sussex. 3.30am. Fw. Adolf Schied (FF) bailed-out but died of wounds on the way to hospital at Tunbridge Wells. (Buried at Tunbridge Wells, now buried at Cannock Chase 1-5-141). Oberfw. Leodegar Schuderer (Bf) killed (Buried at Withyham churchyard, now buried at Cannock Chase 9-7-43). Oberfw. Lorenz Huber (Bm) killed (Buried at Withyham churchyard, now buried at Cannock Chase 9-7-43). Lt. Martin Reiser (B) bailed-out and captured. Aircraft G1+BT a write-off.
