March 29, 1954 ~ March 20, 2021 (age 66)∼Mrs. Ida Ann Byrd, age 66, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at her son's residence on Saturday, March 20th, 2021 following an extended illness.
Mrs. Byrd was born on March 29, 1954, in Douglas, GA to the late Clarence Hursey and the late Stella Mae Gieger Hursey.
Survivors include:
Husband, Charles H. Byrd of Douglas, GA.
One son, Kyle (Shay) Byrd of Douglas, GA.
One daughter, Leighan (Keith) Waters of Douglas, GA.
Three Grandchildren: Carter Luke Byrd, Charles Byrd, and, Alaina Waters.
One brother, Henry Hursey of Yorktown, VA.
The family received friends Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral service were held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:00 am, Tanner Baptist Church, inside the social hall with Rev. "Buddy" James Jordan, and Rev. James "Jim Bo" Steed officiating. The interment followed at Tanner Baptist Church Cemetery.
Sims Funeral Home, Douglas, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. required all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility. Mask were not provided.
