Adam Murray. Born at Mains Parish of Castleton Scotland on or about April 4th 1727 Died at Newcastleton Scotland (as by Tombstone in Castleton Churchyard) March the 8th 1816 Aged about 88 years. *Margaret Hutton his wife (as above stated) Born at Sundhope December the 1st 1722. Died at Phaupknow February the 13th 1775 in her 54th year (the names of several of Adam Murrays Ancestors are on the Tombstones at Castleton). Their Children – Namely –
- "Jane Born August 25th 1754" Married William Telford and had four sons.
- "James Born June 26th 1758" Died young unmarried
- "Margaret Born July 9th 1760 Married John Routledge of Baileyhead.
- "William Born June 7th 1762" Married Henrietta Burgoin a Newcastle Lady at Newcastle on Tyne. He Died at Bewcastle on or about January the 11th 1842 Aged 79 the Widow and One son and three Daughters are living at or near Newcastle on Tyne in 1843. He was a Schoolmaster and was always considered a worthy man.
- "Adam Born June 29th 1766 unmarried living with John Murray his half blood Brother at Langshawburn Eskdale Moor Scotland in 1843. N.B.

And Adam Murray their son who died at N.Castleton March 8th 1816 aged 88 years.
Also Margaret Hutton his spouse who died at at Phaupknow Febr 13 1775 in the 54th year of her age.
Also Janet Little spouse to John Murray who died at Sorby, Febr 23rd 1806 aged 31.
