A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Alvin Huey and the daughter of Joseph Hurley Dixon and Mable Kirkpatrick Dixon, both deceased. She worked at Huey's Seafood for 17 years. She and her late husband founded and operated Huey's Restaurant on Elmira Street and after retirement, worked at Western Steakhouse. She attended Ireland Street Chapel. Mrs. Huey enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; taking trips to the beach; and had special wit and humor which made people laugh and smile.
Survivors include her daughter, Ms. Peggy Chisholm, of Burlington; one sister, Mrs. Peggy Livingston, of Burlington; three brothers, Mr. Kirk Dixon, Mr. Charles Dixon and Mr. Hurley Dixon, all of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Jimmy Lambert, Jon Lambert, Kim L. Black, Robby Adams, David Adams, John Adams and Tammy A. Crumpler; and 13 great-grandchildren, Dustin, Holly and Tori Adams, Brittany and Kenzie Adams, William Adams, Melinda Lambert, Jacob and Will Ingle, Hannah and Walker Black and Cory and Blake Crumpler.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert William Adams and Ronald Edward Adams; two brothers, Joe Dixon and Jack Dixon; and one sister, Jean King.
Burial will be at Alamance Memorial Park.
