SEPTEMBER 23, 1933 ~ SEPTEMBER 17, 2019 (AGE 85)

Charles Patrick Dixon, 85, of Haw River, died Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at his home.

Born in Alamance County on September 23, 1933, Mr. Dixon was the husband of Joan Crawford Dixon and the son of the late Mabel Kirkpatrick Dixon and the late Joe Hurley Dixon.

Mr. Dixon retired from Nokia after 38 years of service. He also delivered the Burlington Times News and the Greensboro News and Record. He would work as a Pinkerton Guard during UNC home games. He was an avid UNC fan. Mr. Dixon loved to travel and greatly loved his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Joan, of the home, Mr. Dixon is survived by his children; Pat Dixon and his wife, Sandy, Kathy Thompson and her husband, Timothy, Jody Dixon, Michael Dixon, Steve Dixon and Robbie Dixon; six grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren and his brother, Hurley Dixon and his wife, Virginia.

Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Lee Albright Dixon; brothers, Kirk Dixon, Joe Dixon and Jack Dixon; sisters, Peggy Livingston, Jean King and Ruth Huey and a grandson, Keith Dixon.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 20, 2019 from 11:00 until 12:00 pm at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Graham.

A graveside service will be held in Pine Hill Cemetery at 12:30 PM. Officiating will be the Rev. Benjamin Wolf.
