Sarah (Yoder) McGuire, 96, of Washington, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Emerald Place.

She was born March 7, 1925 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late John L. and Magdalena (Wagler) Yoder.

Sarah married John V. McGuire and he preceded her in death.

She was a member of First Mennonite Church. She loved gardening and indoor/outdoor plants. She enjoyed helping her brothers and sisters. She was very social, loved to be around people and was always on the go. Sarah was lovingly cared for by her church family and her nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, John V. McGuire; parents, John and Magdalena Yoder; five sisters, Rachel Wagler, Leah Yoder, Mary Stoll, Ida Mae Wagler and Anna Viola Schrock; three brothers, William Yoder, Joseph Yoder and Benjamin Yoder; and seven nephews.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Lydia Ann Yoder and 38 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2021 at First Mennonite Church in Montgomery. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fair Haven Mennonite Church and Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at First Mennonite Church.
