Robert M. Hartleben

Robert "Bob" Mack Hartleben, 79, of Waverly passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bob was born on Nov. 4, 1926, in Cleveland to Fred and Nellie Amos Hartleben. He was a devoted husband for 40 years to his wife, Julia Mae Massey Hartleben, who preceded him in death. He was a loving father and grandfather and a Protestant by faith. Bob was a World War II veteran and retired from American Cyanamid with more than 40 years of service and was a member of OCAW. Bob was a very talented woodworker and enjoyed numerous outdoor activities, especially hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by four daughters, Betty and her husband, Rusty Mick, of Parkersburg, Donna "Dee" and her husband, Jeff Taylor, of Belmont, Peggy and her husband, Cliff Means, of Charleston and Paula and her husband, John Pacheco, of Hampton, Va.; eight grandchildren, Brian Mick and his wife, Shawna, of St. Albans, W.Va., Jamie Jarrell and her husband, Russell, of Sissonville, W.Va., Jeffrey Taylor Jr. of Richmond, Va., Curtis Mick of Parkersburg, Cassandra Means of Charleston, Mary Beth Taylor and her fiance, Brandon Mattes, of Cincinnati, Robbie Pacheco and his wife, Sheena, of Hampton and Shane Pacheco of Hampton. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Heim of Ocean Springs, Miss.; and one brother, Hubert Hartleben of Stockport, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, an infant sibling and a grandchild.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Waverly United Methodist Church, with Joe Spivey officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, with military rites by Williamstown American Legion Post 159. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home and at the church one hour before the services.
