She was born in Jefferson County on December 3, 1924 to Raymond Gahagen and Mildred Himes. Her husband, Nick McCall, preceded her in death by 40 years as well as her parents, her older sister, Geraldine Doerr and her twin sister, Dorothy Fox. Surviving are her son, Douglas (Linda) McCall, two grandchildren, Stacy (Mike) Vernier and Steven (Dana) McCall, as well as three great-grandchildren, Brooke McCall, Alex Vernier and Luke Vernier. She is also survived by her niece, Linda, who helped take care of her, and several other nieces and nephews.
Doris was a longtime active member of Zion U.M. Church in Sarver and a current member of Cabot U.M. Church. Doris worked at Du-Co Ceramics in Saxonburg for 28 years before retiring in 1998. Doris loved to read and her favorite book was the Bible.
Interment will be in the Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery Cemetery.
