Stratford-Mrs. Josephine Allain, 81, a resident of Stratford since 1906, died at her home on Route 4 at 2 a.m. Monday as a result of complications brought on by her advanced age. She had been ill since April.

Mrs. Allain, nee Bushard was born in Fond du Lac on September 4, 1854. Her parents were of Canadian descent, having come to the United States from the Quebec vicinity. She was married on Dec. 26, 1871 to Francis Allain at Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1911.
Before settling on a farm near here in the fall of 1906, Mrs. Allain had resided in Friendship and Fond du Lac. She was a member of the Ladies Alter Society of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Surviving are four children: Philip, Green Bay; Andrew, Marshfield; and Mary and Albert at home. Four daughters died in infancy.
Also preceding her in death were 12 sisters. There are 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Burial Note: Per hand written notes from Lillian Petrose Skibba, she is buried at the family home on Route 4 in Stratford, Wisconsin. My dad always told me that she was buried at the family home also.
