She married William Crutchfield, as his third wife, about 1748, after the death of his second wife Jane Stapleton Norman. William and Rachel had at least 4 children: Martin, Thomas, Margaret and George. Three of the children, along with several half-siblings (children of William Crutchfield with his first and second wives, Eleanor Saxton and Jane Stapleton Norman), would later settle in Chatham County North Carolina; Martin, Thomas, and daughter Margaret, who is believed to have married William Green. They probably accompanied their half brothers James and Henry Crutchfield, who had settled in Chatham County by about 1775. Son George also went to North Carolina for a time, but eventually settled in Tennessee.
Rachel was still alive in August of 1759 when she was named in the division of William Crutchfield's estate. Her exact date of death, and location, are unknown.
