James Wesley Capper, second son of E. M. and Carrie J. Capper, was born in Union Township, June 2, 1892, and died April 27, 1924. On May 4, 1915, he was united in marriage to Anna Tripp, and to this union was born three children, Ralph, Wilda, and Wayne, the latter 8 months of age.
James spent his entire life in Union Township, a farmer by occupation, having taught school for years. He had been in declining health for the past two years, and was called from earth on Sunday morning at 7:30, his death due to apoplexy. He is survived by his grandmother, Elizabeth G. Capper, aged 84, father, mother, seven brothers, Melville of Carrollton, Charles, Frank, Lawrence, Lester, Norris and Kendal, and one sister, Mrs. Junius Yealey, all of Union Township. Mr. Capper was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Protestant church and was interred in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Rev. Homer Moore of Alliance officiating.
