She was born February 10, 1938 in Edinburg, VA, daughter of the late Boyd and Virginia Grandstaff Bowman.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Bowman and Billy Bowman, and her sister Francis (Sweet) Fauber.
She is survived by one brother, Bobby F. Bowman of Edinburg.
Joyce graduated from Edinburg High School class of 1956. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Fairview and the Edinburg VFW Aux. She worked for many years at Edinburg Aileen. Joyce loved doing her word search puzzles, playing dominos, Phase 10, and Uno with her grandkids, and going to bingo night with her friends.
Joyce was married to the love of her life, the late John Calvin Sager for 39 years. She is also survived by five children, Martha (Sam) Dodson of Edinburg, Becky (Billy) Painter of Woodstock, Brenda Hosaflook (Duane Shirkey) of Basye, Robert (Jennifer) Sager of Edinburg, and John (Paula) Sager of Edinburg. Joyce was a loving grandmother to fifteen grandchildren, Bobbi Ellen, Michael, Brandi, Lacey, Holly, Wesley, Heather, DJ, Lizzie, Keanna, Sierra, Jacob, Dana, Gianna, and Carly Jo; twelve great grandchildren, Sydney, Donavan, Dreyton, Caden, Shiloh, Daylin, Devyn, Camden, Tyler, Liam, Millie. and CJ; and one great-great grandson, Maxton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gary Fravel, Dick Bowman, Tom Bowman Phil Fauber, Kevin Fauber and Dennis Fauber.
