Mrs. Edmonston, formerly Miss Jennie Buie, was born August 16, 1854 in Cerulean Springs, Kentucky. With her mother and several brothers, she came to Texas in 1880 and settled at Buffalo Gap. the following year they moved to Anson where the family played a large part in the organizing of Jones county. In 1900 she came to Stamford with her brother, Judge L.M. Buie, who was a prominent figure in the early history of the town. In 1913 she married J.O.P. Edmonston who preceded her in death.
Surviving: step-daughter - Mrs. J.M. Keesee of Lubbock; two cousins - Mrs. W.N. Bunkley of Rule; Ross Buie and three nieces - Annie Laura Buie of Carlsbad, NM; Ruth and Mary Lee Buie of Anson. She was the last surviving member of the immediate family after the death of her brother, Judge B. Frank Buie, at Carlsbad, NM last Thursday.
