Reverend Joy Anderson-Carson, 62, of Linden St., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Harrisburg, Hospital.

She was born in Harrisburg, daughter of Georgia Cross and the late George William Lowery, a graduate of the old John Harris High School, retired from the Harrisburg School District, a member of Antioch Tabernacle United Holy Church of America, where she served with the Shepherd's Ministry, Missionary Dept., Youth Dept., Women's Fellowship, Children's Church, Marital Bliss Couple's Ministry, Kitchen and Hospitality Ministries; the former pastor of McKinney Memorial U. H. C. of America of Baltimore, MD, former Assistant to the Pastor of Mt. Pisgah A. M. E. Zion Church in Shippensburg; former Staff Minister at Harris A.M.E. Zion Church in Harrisburg and in her leisure, enjoyed doodling, writing and fill-in felt art.

In addition to her mother, Georgia Cross of Harrisburg; Reverend Anderson-Carson leaves to celebrate her life, her husband, Ralph Carson; her son, Sgt, Blake Grier serving with the U. S. Army in Hawaii; her daughters, Charnel Robinson and Angela Carson, both of Harrisburg; her 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, May 19th at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary of her church at 1920 North St., with viewing 10 until 11 a.m. and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to the Ministry of Comfort of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton.
