William Randell Hutson, 72, of Mount Airy, passed away at Novant Forsyth Medical Center on March 3, 2021.
Born May 30, 1948, he was the son of John Willie and Edna Francis Johnson Hutson.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children: Randell Kevin Hutson, Kristopher John Hutson, Kellie Lenora Hutson; his grandchildren: Hannah (Josh) Watson, Wesley Gillespie, Heath Hutson, Kayleigh Hutson; great-grandson, Sawyer Watson; brothers: Bro. Bobby Ray Hutson, Leonard Preston Hutson, Ronnie Junior Hutson; sisters: Annie May Bruner, Hilda Fay Bruner, Bonnie Sue Shropshire; several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws; and a very special friend of 51 years and mother of his children, Jewell Hutson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Dale Hutson; and a sister, Mary Ruth Atkins.
Mr. Hutson spoke often of his memories of growing up on the farm. He worked hard, drawing on the values he learned as a youngster. He founded and ran his own company, Hutson Family Paving and Grading, for many years, quite successfully.
When he wasn’t working, he treasured spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing and a great round of golf! As much as he enjoyed these activities, he cherished most the day he was saved by the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He attended Hope Fellowship Church.
A graveside service will be held at Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery, in Ararat, NC, on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Terry Johnson.
He will lie in state at Cox-Needham Funeral Home Friday, March 5 (1:00-5:00), Saturday, March 6 (9:00-5:00), and Sunday, March 7 (9:00-12:00).
The family asks that all attendees please wear masks and practice social distancing. If not feeling well or running a fever, please refrain from attending.
