Mr. Roney Junior Hutson, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on July 2, 1946 to the late Willie and Edna Johnson Hutson and attended Westside Baptist Church. Mr. Hutson was the former owner and operator of Hutson Furniture and a veteran of the United States Army having served our country during the Viet Nam War.He was a devout Christian who devoted his life to his family and his service to God. Survivors include his loving wife and soulmate of 51 years, Iva Lee Penley Hutson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Kirsten Hutson and Dwayne and Sarah Hutson; his beloved grandchildren, Meagan and husband Samuel Harris, Silas Hutson, Lane Hutson, Charley Grace Hutson and Sadie Lee Hutson; two sisters, Annie Mae Bruner and Bonnie and husband Jerry Shropshire; two brothers, Bobby Hutson and Randell Hutson; several special nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ruth and Clifton Atkins and Hilda and Billy Bruner; two brothers, Kenneth Hutson and Leonard Hutson; a sister-in-law, Virginia Hutson and a brother-in-law, Bobby Bruner. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Westside Baptist Church by the Rev. Steve Johnson, the Rev. Keith Forster and the Rev. Jason Johnson. Burial will follow in Little Mountain Baptist Church cemetery with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Mount Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. The family will receive friends at Westside Baptist Church on Wednesday, from 6 to 8 pm where his body will remain to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roney Hutson Funeral Fund, c/o Moody-Davis Funeral Home P.O. Box 295 Dobson, NC 27017 to assist the family with funeral expenses. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, Forsyth Hospital ICU nurses and doctors and the many friends, neighbors and his church family for the love, prayers and compassionate care shown during this difficult time.
