NOVEMBER 10, 1947 – MARCH 4, 2021

Glen Wesley Buchanan, 73, of Lincoln, NE passed away March 4, 2021 at his home. He was born November 10, 1947 in Tecumseh, NE to John and Crystal (Carmichael) Buchanan. He spent time in the U.S. Army in Germany, during the Vietnam conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1969. He then spent 18 years in the Army Reserves, first in finance then as a semi driver. He retired as a Staff Sergeant. He spent 15 years driving semi for a bridge company in Lincoln, NE.

He was united in marriage to Barbara A. (Mentgen) in Lincoln, NE on May 23, 1970 at the Havelock Baptist Church on Havelock Ave.

Glen spent his life doing what he enjoyed, riding motorcycles, driving semi and spending time with family, playing the organ and caring for his yard and pond. He was a collector of Rocks wherever he went. His faith was important to him and he had deep devotion to the Havelock Christian Church. His wife, Barbara, and his family were the love and joy of his life.

He survived by his wife, Barbara; 3 children; Melinda (Rob Down) Lincoln, NE; Kevin (Amber Haag) Tecumseh, NE; Edward, Lincoln, NE. Grandchildren; Meghan Griggs, Maciey Griggs, Mecades Down, Samuel, Wesley, Angel, Isaac, Anya and Sylas Buchanan. Great Grandchildren; Kiyanna, Omarion, Parker and Brooklynn Hall. Brothers; John, Carl (Lynn), Ray and Alan Buchanan. Sisters-in-law; Carolyn Garcia, Linda Blazek, Judy Hall and Brother-in-law Louis Mentgen, lots of nieces and nephews. And lots of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Crystal; daughters Sara and Sandra; Sister-in-law Diane Buchanan, and Brother-in-law Terry Mentgen, and Sister-in-law Gayle Mentgen.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021, 11:00am, (with a luncheon to follow) at Havelock Christian Church. 6520 Colfax Ave, Lincoln, NE. Interment Thursday, March 11, 2021, 2:30pm, at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. 6700 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE, with full Military Honors.

Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Flowers may be delivered to Havelock Christian Church.
