Eva Bernell Orick, 91, of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Providence LLC in Searcy, Arkansas. She was born February 5, 1930 in Walcott, AR to Robert (Bob) and Vera (White) Bowlin. She was retired from Stanford Public Schools, where she held various positions during her time employed there. She attended Westside Church of Christ in Searcy, but still considered Commissary Church of Christ her home church. She loved crappie fishing with her husband Herman, and always put others first by quietly doing little things for people. Her dill pickles and peanut brittle always seemed to be available to anyone who helped her and Herman in any way.
Bernell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman Orick; daughter Belinda (Rob) Byrns; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her sons Steve (Virginia) Orick, Searcy, AR; and Ron (Colleen) Orick, Ft. Smith, AR, Granddaughters Julie (Thomas) Orick Selig, Ft. Smith, AR and Coral Byrns, Auburn, AL. One Grandson, David Orick, Dallas, TX.
Graveside services will be held Friday at Morrow Cemetery beginning at 2:00 pm with Evan Smith officiating. Services are under the direction of Heath Funeral Home.
