She was born just as World War I began and was raised by prominent and kind parents in Monroe, Louisiana. She had a happy childhood. She married her one and only sweetheart, William Frederick Guerriero, as the depression began, becoming the wife of a respected gynecologist. She had one child, William Graham Guerriero, who also is a physician, and who cared for her many years as her strength left her.
There were two strong and loving women in her life, her sister, Elizabeth Powell and Margaret Guerriero, her daughter-in-law. She lived with her sister for twenty-five years. They were known as the "ladies" by the family.
Survivors include her son, William Graham Guerriero; three grandchildren, Michael Guerriero and his wife Hilary, Margaret Ellen Nibbe and her husband Robert and Thomas Layng Guerriero and his wife Karen; eight great grandchildren, Max and Reese Guerriero, Trevor, Katrina and Teagan Nibbi, Layng, Grace and Quency Guerriero.
