She was born Aug. 29, 1913 to Paul and Mamie (Hendricks) Kohles at Earling, Iowa. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Hartington. She was married on July 14, 1935 to Homer A. Schmidt at Denver, Colorado. They moved to Crofton in 1947 and then to Yankton in in 1948. She returned to Denver in 1962. She was survived by 3 daughters [2 with husbands}, 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, her step mother Julia Kohles at Crofton, 2 sisters: Mrs. Bernard {Lorene} Ausdemore, Mrs. Dario {Irene} Kollars both at Crofton; 2 brothers: Lawrence, Albert both at Crofton.
