Lorene Marie Ausdemore, age 93 of Crofton, Nebraska, died on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton, South Dakota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 10:30 am at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton with Rev. Michael Schmitz officiating. Burial will be in the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Crofton. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Crofton Senior Citizens Center.

Pallbearers will be Mel Baumert, David Kloucek, Glenn Loecker, John Brower, Don Kuhlman, Barbara Ausdemore, Tony Samuel and Doug Bloomquist.

Lorene was born on May 28, 1922 at Crofton to Paul James and Julia Marie (Frey) Kohles. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from St. Rose of Lima Elementary School. She married Bernard C. Ausdemore on June 5, 1943 at Brownwood, Texas. They made their home on a farm west of Crofton where Lorene helped Bernard milk the cows and do the farm work. They moved into Crofton in 1989 and Lorene had been a resident of the Avera Sister James Care Center since September 21, 2011.

Lorene was a lifelong member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Choir and Altar Society. Her faith was very important to her as she was a member of the Christian Mothers and the Catholic Daughters of America. She also was a member of the Crofton American Legion Auxiliary Post 128. Lorene was never one to embrace idol time as she made thousands of rosaries and loved to crochet. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, playing word games and playing solitaire on the computer.

Lorene is survived by 7 children, Joyce and Mel Baumert of Schuyler, NE; Carol and David Kloucek of Tabor, SD; Mary and Glenn Loecker of Fordyce, NE; Kathie and John Brower of Geneva, NE; Paulette and Don Kuhlman of Bennet, NE; Jan and Barbara Ausdemore of San Diego, CA; Diane and Tony Samuel of Atlanta, GA; 29 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Julia Kohles, husband, Bernard, on August 3, 2011 at the age of 85, a daughter, Julie Kramer, 3 grandsons, David Kloucek Jr, Joseph Kloucek and Luke Ausdemore, 2 brothers, Albert and Pauline Kohles, Lawrence and Glondale Kohles, 2 sisters, Pauline and Homer Schmidt and Irene and Darlo Kollars.
