She was a Martinsville High School graduate with the Class of 1953. Shortly after graduation, she married Frederick Lorin "Peanut" Fleener on July 3, 1954.
Together, they shared 66 years of marriage before Peanut's passing on October 26, 2020. They left behind their children, Ervin Lee Fleener and Gerald "Jerry" Fleener (Leeann) and one daughter, Barbara Ann Fleener of Martinsville, ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one sister, Helen Dean (Frank) of Gosport.
Phyllis was preceded in death one son, David Fleener, one daughter, Kathy Sue Skirvin, one grandchild, three brothers, Harold, Albert and Richard Hamilton and one sister, Marilyn Hamilton.
Phyllis was a homemaker most of her life, she also worked at Personal Finance where she was customer representative for 11 years. She loved to read and sew. She was a member of the Hindustan Church in Monroe County and Helpful Hands.
A graveside service, celebrating her life will be Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery. Everyone in attendance should practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
