He was born in Sigurd, Utah, April 11, 1925, to Irvin L. and Lexia Dastrup Warnock . Robert loved the family and friends he grew up with, and the farm he was raised on. He married Phyllis Parker in the Salt Lake Temple on Friday the 13th October, 1944. Served in the Army Air Corp as a navigator for a B-17. Received a Bachelors and Masters from Utah State and Phd. from Rutgers in inorganic chemistry. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, served as a member of a Bishopric, counselor in a mission presidency, High Counselor, Seminary teacher, Scout leader, and numerous other callings.
He worked for Chevron Chemical as a research agronomist, and is a co-holder of scientific patents, and was an inventor. He is an author of scientific books and articles, short stories, poems, patriotic pageants.
He loved hunting and fishing, and loved sharing the memories of his hunts of deer, antelope, elk, cougar, bear, and buffalo, but never did get that illusive turkey. He also started a summer camp in which he taught various subjects to instill a love of learning in his grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids. He was instrumental in establishing the Irvin L. and Lexia D. Warnock Memorial Scholarship.
