Obituary.
Mrs. Samantha Mitchell, wife of Edward Mitchell, of Valencia, died at 10 o'clock today from heart trouble after an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Mitchell formerly of North Topeka, but for the past eighteen years the family has resided one mile southwest of Valencia in one of the most beautiful homes in Dover township. Mrs. Mitchell was one of the most energetic and enterprising women in the community. She contributed largely to the organization and construction of the Plymouth Congregational church, of which she was a member. The deceased was 55 years old, and she was married to Mr. Mitchell in 1874 [sic]. Her maiden name was Beal, and she was a sister of Alonzo Beal, a wealthy cattleman who lives near Valencia. She leaves a husband and three daughters, Mrs. Guy Kiene and Daisy and Pansy Mitchell, aged 18 and 14, respectively. The funeral will be held from the family home at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
