Edward “Buddy” Lee Coffey Sr., 66, of Reelsville, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 24, 2021 in his residence.

He was born in Crawfordsville on Sept. 20, 1953, the son of Harvey Opel Coffey and Anna Mae (Lewis) Coffey.

Buddy attended Mooresville High School. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles. Buddy was a concrete finisher before he became ill. He loved to play his guitar and he played in several bands.

On Sept. 29, 1984, Buddy married Bess Tate. Edward was a loving husband and father.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Anna Mae Coffey; a brother, Gary Coffey; sisters Nettie Bush and Kathy Coffey; and a mother-in-law, Lucy Tate.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Bess Coffey; sons Chad Dailey, Duayne Dailey and wife Shelley and Edward Lee Coffey Jr. and wife Jennifer; brothers Frank, Dennis, Harvey and David Coffey; a daughter, Mindy Coffey; sisters Betty Rose Elmore and Marlene Coffey; grandchildren Destiny and Ava Dailey and Caden Bradley; and many great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday, March 1 in French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil. Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
