James was living in Carroll County, MS when he was registered for the WWI draft in 1917-18. James had moved to Slate Springs, MS by the 1940s.

Last rites for James Clifton Bond were held Sunday, December 2, at Pine Bluff with the Rev. Jessie McMillan officiating.

Pallbearers were Willie Frank Bond, Freddie Holmes, Charles Osborn, Jas. Ora, Jas. Morehead and Carrol Bond. Interment was at Pine Bluff under the direction of Lee Funeral Home.

Mr. Bond, who passed away November 29th at the University Hospital in Jackson, was born in Montgomery county July 12, 1880. He married the former Miss Angeline Garner in 1903. He was a member of the Bethsaida Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. James Bond; four daughters Mrs. Sarah Morehead, French Camp, Mrs. Mary McGee, Clarksdale, Mrs. Ophelia McColister, Grenada, Mrs. Noah Loft, New York; four sons, George Bond and Willie Bond, Vaiden, Floyd Bond, Greenwood, and Pleas Bond of Durant; five sisters, Mrs. Mirror Montague of Itta Bena, Mrs. Hazel Moore of Winona, Mrs. Maudie Barrett, McComb, Mrs. Callie Braswell, Wisner, La., Mrs. Pearl Houston, Memphis; and three brothers, Barney Bond, Greenwood, Clyde Bond, Cruger and Steve Bond of Winona.
