“Alda” Broyhill McNeil, 91, of Wilkesboro passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021. Mrs. McNeil was born September 6, 1929 to Howard Mort and Luna Mae Lowe Broyhill of Moravian Falls.
Alda enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, and warm conversations with friends and family. She always had a ready smile and never a harsh word. Mrs. McNeil was very active at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and The Eastern Star before health concerns limited her activities.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McNeil is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James Hoyle McNeil; her son, James Gregory McNeil; her daughter-in-law, Darlene Watson McNeil; three sisters, Alma Parsons, Pauline Johnson, and Mary Belle Brookshire; and six brothers, Vaughn, Linney, Everette, Kenneth, Clint, and Clyde Broyhill.

Mrs. McNeil is survived by one son, Chris McNeil and wife, Lynn, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Building Fund, 239 Champion-Mount Pleasant Road, Wilkesboro, N.C. 28697 or Alzheimer’s Association, 4600 Park Rd, #250, Charlotte, NC, 28209. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
