Allan and most of the people in the lifeboat were killed. After hours in the North Atlantic, clinging to the remains of the lifeboat’s keel, Judith and Andrew were rescued. Because they had been living together, they said that they were engaged, but denied it later. They broke up in 1940. Subsequently, Andrew Allan was married twice. Judith never married.
